Work done:
- Digging of some trenches and swale soil to test permeability.
- Planted more rooted cactus by removing it and planting it on site of tank pit #1.
Observations:
- Backyard:
- Wheat patch #1 is growing. I think it's wheat because weed seeds are not growing.
- Grow bed shows leeks and lettuce seeds sprouting. No sign of any kale sprouts.
- Sugar cane still alive.
- Sweet potato still growing.
- Potato hidden under huauzontle still growing.
- San Pedro cactus still looking normal, in spite of cold weather.
- Garlic embedded in peppermint starting to pop up.
- Oregano still looks dead. I'll wait until spring to reassess.
- West garden:
- Moringa trees appear dead, but trunk near ground still appears green. Will monitor.
- Garlic growing.
- Cactus look good, plump and shining.
- South garden:
- Nothing to note except kale growing back after each harvest.
- Swales:
- Sunflowers still alive, new shoots from leaf junctions.
- Huauzontle sprouting everywhere it was banked.
- Previously impossible hard clay now can be penetrated on south side.
- Crimson clover sprouts growing.

This is the first grow site and plant breeding site. Expansion is under way to have a stock of four thousand (4,000) growing opuntia ficus indica and other varieties.
Our main goal here is to create hard freeze resistant stock and to open a nursery (wholesale and retail).
